Release

I learned a couple of things from this.
  1. Me and traditional mediums STILL don't get along
  2. I need to plan my pictures out better than this.
Well, I can honestly say it started off good, but it blew up in my face towards the end. It also doesn't help that I can't scan it properly. One of these days I'm just going to play with my scanner until I get it right.

Oh well. =( You win some, you lose some, but it took me far too long to finish this pic to just let it sit and collect dust. I'll try again. And again, and again. Haha.

Busy as always. Probably more than ever. Seriously could use a break right now. But I press on.

Later taters.

Unknown Wonders

Unknown Wonder is DONE. Dazzni is under the sea. Inspired by my trip to the Monterry Aquarium. Yup.

Fret not, this blog is still active. Time hasn't been in my favor lately. I just don't have a lot of it but more soon as always. And...

Scrap Metal Heart. Just a little thought thingie and an excuse to make gold sparklies. =)

The nonsensecial things

Couple of things guys! My blog has reached it's 1st anniversary! Can you believe it? So much has changed since last April when I was relieved from the darkest pit I was thrown into. I succeeded in art. I drew more in one year then I did the two years I struggled with. And I plan to do more this year, even though I don't post everything I do here. Here's too another year! And hopefully I continue to grow!

I was looking through a very old sketchbook (dated in 06-07) to find an old character I wanted to revive. I was floored at how terrible my drawings were. THEY WERE SO OLD! But what amazed me was not only have I gotten better skill wise, but my style changed too! My goodness, I thought my style was good THEN! But I'm heading in the right direction. While I'm trying to find my own style, I look at several other people's character designs to see what makes theirs unique. Everybody is so GOOD. I want to be that good too. I'm still on a quest to improve.

I'll just say now that Glen Keane and Don Bluth are my IDOLS. I'll keep chasing them until I'm 50. Haha, but anyway on to some pictures, right?I was supposed to color these. But I immediatly got bored with them. I feel so bad. Maggy is my precious but...well, it wasn't there this time. And I see that now. She's done her job. I saw myself in her, my precious little alter ego. But, I also grew up too. Maggy is still in a special place in my heart...but I think her story is done. =(

Jasper is a new character but he looks like a ruffed up version of Sami (need to work on my men designs more haha). He's a potential main character for a new project. POTENTIAL. I'm still trying to figure it out. More about that SOON.

Costume designs for Project. That's all I'm gonna saaaaay. Nya nya na na na!

Anyway, I'm leaving for the weekend and when I return I'm coming back full force. I hope to tie up some loose ends on this project while I'm relaxing. Mostly, I'm hoping to finally suceed. I'm going about this a different way but either way, I'm still excited.
