At the Acropolis
Well my friends, I have returned from my glorious trip from Greece and Italy. Wonderful, entertaining, inspiring and educational trip to two cities of ruins. And if you know me, you'll know that I'm obsessed with ancient civilization, I must say I defenity got my fill of that on this trip. Even though for the most part the cities and buildings were busted up and practically non existing, walking through them, I was able to piece in what really was there, what kind of people lived there. I fell in love there.
Greece was a very cultral country. The people there, are very proud of their heritage. They knew history fell short of them, kingdoms and empires didn't last and people made mistakes, but they knew themselves and never denied themselves as a people. Even the modern folks. They say, "We are Greek to the bone!" Wonderful people they were. Beautiful history. The food though...

I was king of the world.I don't want to spout a lot about Greece because Italy was just as grand! Unfortunately, I lost my camera (not! it was in my purse the whole time x_x) and didn't get my own pics of me at the coliseum and the roman forum. BUT! My eldest sister did, so I can prove I was there, HA! But I'll show those on a private flicker account as well as the rest of my pictures from my trip overseas (as well as more commentary).
I will say this though, I learned a lot, artwise when I was in those two countries. The Greek and Italian paintings and sculptures...were just MARVELOUS! Omg...the TREVI FOUNTAIN?! I could have spent the whole day there staring at those magnicfient statues. Words cannot describe. Pictures do no justice. You just have to be there. Anyway, I learned that I need to work on more details, movement, color and enviroment in my pictures. Moreso movement. I guess that's why I went on hiatus in the first place because I felt my art was static. But now, I can portray movement without making my drawings all action jackson. What I need to practice on is fluidity. Just as I saw in those sculptures. They sculptures never moved, but at the same time, they did! I know I don't make sense but, I'll try to capture that same fluid motion in my drawings from now on. I want to study them more. Mixing colors is another thing. I'm scared to color. I always think I'll do it wrong so I go the safe route. Not anymore. I'll practice until I get it right. I'm so inspired right now, I just HAVE TO!
So yes, the trip in a nutshell...got on an artistic high and met lots of new friends from the tour. Omg, people from all over. Good folks from the states, wonderful buddies from other countries. And a lot of them want me to visit them. =D So without further say, I'm gonna defenity save up my money. Where to next year?
Japan.
Yuuri, I'll see you there. Wait for me. <3
Hahaha. Okay so, trip aside. It's 1:30 am right now and I'm still awake from Italian time which is...10:30am over there lol. Wow, I hope I can get some sleep. Um, I'm not going to do any drawing tomorrow. Gonna take a lazy day and start working hard on the arts for Thursday, given that I don't have a job which I prolly will. I'm trying to set up a decent schedule so that I have time to do the more responsible things at home and also have ample drawing time. *nods*
Tons to get done. I'm gonna finish the second act of Get a Clue which is halfway done anyway. I'm going to also finish the prologue for Memento. Can you believe it's been almost a year since I stopped that? Well, I actually fixed a number of things and "got over myself" so that the story wasn't so personal anymore and now it's more fun. I rescripted the first chapter. It's not so corny anymore and it has ACTION! So now I just need to finish thumbnailing it. It's up to about 48 pages. x_x My chapters can never be short.
What else.... Got a new DA account. Won't post where it is until I put new pics on there. It's still empty. I...sorta dropped "kasti" alias. I dont feel like using it as a nick/penname anymore. I guess I'm calling myself trying to be pro even though I'm not looking for a job in the arts...well...not really. I DON'T KNOW. Haha. You grow out of things. The name I use now is a joke I picked up on my trip. It's got something to do with milk and my personality. Okay I'm rambling, obviously getting sleepy, YAY. I think that's it...
Oh and I came home and my precious Skye got bigger. ;o; He grew up without me...*cries* Alright, goodnight, ya'll. Drawings soon! Augustis Ceaser says goonite too!
